The Thursday Morning Group is a friendly welcoming assortment of women who meet twice a month to support each other and have rich discussions about a selected book and/or bible passage. New members are always welcome. We will connect again by zoom on August 13 (which happens to be national left handers day) and August 27. Contact Sue Henderson at email@example.com to be added to the list or contact the church office. We are currently reading the Freedom Writers Diary by Grunwell and will discuss the Sophomore year chapters on August 13 and the Junior year chapters on August 27.
The Sunday Women’s Bible study’s next meeting is August 30th at 3:00pm. This group will be continuing on Zoom, meeting once or twice a month. We are reading Bible Women: All their words and why they matter by Lindsay Hardin Freeman. We will be discussing Chapter 23; The Mother of Seven Sons. We will also decide which book we will discuss next. We discuss not only the book and the bible passages, but how they relate to what is happening in our lives and the world we live in now.
You do not need to have come in the past to join us now. Please contact Pat Speer (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you wish to be added to the email list to receive the Zoom link.

Our sister congregation, Iglesia Cristiana el Buen Pastor, continues to experience high levels of unemployment among its membership. Every Saturday, there is a food distribution of groceries collected from POWWOW, Refugee Aid, and our East Valley Network worship communities. Between 30 and 40 families are served every week. This need is going to continue for a long time- and even those receiving unemployment benefits will be affected if the federal subsidy is not extended.
Please help by picking up a few extra items in your weekly shopping and dropping them off at Holly Herman's house. Any item that your family commonly uses is appropriate, but especially peanut butter and jelly, laundry soap, rice, canned vegetables and meats, soup, cereal, TP, paper towels, black beans, pinto beans, pasta and sauce, tuna, vegetable oil, salt, garlic, pepper, tortillas, bread, and caldo de pollo (chicken bouillon).
It is usual for interest in a project to wane over time, but I hope you can re-energize for another several weeks. I'll pick up items if needed. Or you can order groceries and have them delivered directly to us.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For all you do and all you are. We are truly blessed by this network of caring worship communities.
Call or text me with any questions.
